CLASSES/PRICES/PRIVATES
Offerings I currently teach:
Vinyasa Flow (Saturdays 9:00-10:00 AM): A creative cousin of Ashtanga's vinyasa yoga's modified primary series. This class is an intense flow of sequencing, featuring inversions, backbends, arm balances, and occasionally partner work. Definitely counts as a workout. Restorative (Wednesday 8:00- 9:00 PM, Friday 6:15-7:45 PM): Aka, guided napping. A mellow, super chill way to stretch with a little help from your pillows, blankets, pillows, and other prop friends. Appropriate for all ages and levels of experience. Location 286 Divisadero Street (at Haight) San Francisco, CA 94117 (415) 552-9644 How much, you ask? Private lessons are a great way to kick your practice up a notch, gain some body knowledge and get individualized attention! Private yoga sessions are your chance to personalize your practice and work on yourself with direct instructive guidance. For example, students who are coming back from injuries or who have very particular fitness and health goals can really benefit from one-on-one attention. In private lessons I tailor sequences and routines to your unique self, developing a curriculum for you that you will eventually be able to do any time, any place.
I highly recommend that you sign up for multiple private lessons. As I get to know you and your body better I will be better able to design a practice for you that you can take home with you.
Time/place:
Privates have the extra benefit of flexible scheduling, and weekends are the best days to catch me. Lessons can take place at the Yoga Garden Studio, in the students’ house, or in my home studio.
The Yoga Garden Studio: This is a really beautiful, spacious and tranquil place to do yoga. All the specialized props (bolsters, yoga chairs, blocks, mats) are at your disposal. It’s a great escape from life’s clutter. Individualized lessons in a spacious, gracious studio are a lovely commodity if you have disposable income.
Your house: Before scheduling a lesson at your home, please look around you to see if this is truly feasible. If you have any of the following a) boisterous roommates b) limited space c) a phone that rings constantly, you may wish to reconsider this location. The convenience of not having to leave your house may be trumped by the inconvenience of having to rearrange all your furniture.
My house: I have a lovely little yoga studio in my flat in San Francisco. This is where I do my own practice, and I am happy to share it with students. Props, peace, and quiet are in abundance. My yoga studio includes a large mirror (a rarity in many studios), so it is especially great for those working on their form and alignment. Please note that you MUST come to at least three of my classes and and/or meet me before scheduling a private lesson at my house.
